Servers in Treaty Territory

Our servers are located in Winnipeg, Canada, meeting data-residency requirements for organizations or agencies requiring physical storage of data within Canada. Data residency is becoming increasingly important to website owners concerned about security and privacy.

Our datacentre is located on Treaty 1 Land, in the traditional homeland of Anishinaabe, Ojibwe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene and Métis peoples. The electricity that powers our datacentre is generated by Manitoba Hydro, largely on lands in Treaty 5 Territory, the homeland of the Pimicikamak people.

Winnipeg is a physically secure location with a low incidence of natural disasters and a very stable electrical power system. The building housing our datacentre is served by two separate power grids, one built by Manitoba Hydro and one originally built by Winnipeg Hydro before its amalgamation into Manitoba Hydro. Our servers have never lost power.

Being in the heart of Winnipeg, our network is able to interconnect with every major Internet carrier in Manitoba. Our network is directly connected to MBIX and WPGIX as well as commercial Internet providers.
