Our Technology Platform

Our primary servers are physically located in Winnipeg Manitoba on Treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, OjiCree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and homeland of the Métis Nation.

Our primary datacentre is powered by clean hydroelectricity generated by Manitoba Hydro, largely on lands in Treaty 5 Territory, the homeland of the Pimicikamak people.

By design, we store all data within Canada, so our clients are assured that their data will not be stored outside of Canada without their knowledge or permission. Data residency is important for certain highly regulated industries, and is becoming of greater concern to everyone who is interested in security.

Winnipeg is a physically secure location with a very low incidence of natural disasters and a very stable power supply. The building that houses our carrier-neutral datacentre is served by two separate power grids, one built by Manitoba Hydro, and one built by Winnipeg Hydro before its amalgamation into Manitoba Hydro. The datacenter has never fully lost power. From this location in the heart of Winnipeg, we are able to interconnect with every major internet carrier in Manitoba. Our network is directly connected to MBIX and WPGIX as well as commercial internet providers.

For over 20 years, we’ve been building on open source technology like Linux and MariaDB, which runs on our servers. Our primary website hosting platform provides our clients with a cPanel management interface.
